06 How Is the Evaluation System for Students in Self-Learning? +

Self-Learning students are evaluated continuously. Every week, the teacher checks the student's Self-Learning Tracker. Parents can record learning progress, challenges, or topics they would like to discuss with the teacher.

If further discussion is needed, Parents and teachers can schedule an online meeting based on mutual agreement. In addition, Parents-Teachers Meetings (PTM) are held every 3 months to discuss the student's overall learning progress in greater detail.

07 Do Self-Learning Students Still Receive Support from Alhazen Teachers? +

Yes. Although students learn independently, teachers continue to monitor their progress regularly through the Self-Learning Tracker.

Teachers monitor progress, provide feedback, and help discuss any learning challenges experienced by students.

08 What Are the Grade Promotion Standards at Alhazen School? +

Grade promotion follows the applicable standards and policies set by the government.

Alhazen School sets a minimum target of 75 as the Minimum Learning Competency (KKM). However, grade promotion is not determined by a single score alone and follows the nationally applicable grade promotion requirements.

09 Does Every Chapter Have an Exam or Evaluation? +

Yes. Learning evaluations are conducted regularly. Chapter-based summative assessments may take the form of written tests or projects, depending on the characteristics of the subject and learning material.

Therefore, students are evaluated not only on their ability to answer questions, but also on their ability to apply their knowledge through projects.

10 Is the Final Exam Conducted as a Project? +

The Final Exam is conducted in the form of a written test. Meanwhile, chapter-based summative assessments may use written tests or projects depending on the learning needs.

11 How Is Project-Based Learning (PBL) Implemented at Alhazen School? +

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is implemented as needed, depending on the subject and learning theme.

In addition to projects conducted during regular lessons, there is also a mandatory project as part of the STEM Q Fair, which involves all students.

12 What Is the STEM Q Fair? +

The STEM Q Fair is a project-based learning activity that gives students the opportunity to apply their knowledge through a project based on a predetermined theme.

For example, in a previous STEM Q Fair, the theme was natural disasters. Students created simple experiments demonstrating how a natural disaster could occur and then presented their projects to other students.

Currently, as many Alhazen School students live outside the Greater Jakarta area and even outside Indonesia, the STEM Q Fair is conducted online so that all students can participate.

13 How Often Is the STEM Q Fair Held? +

The STEM Q Fair is held three times a year and involves all students, including those enrolled in the Self-Learning program.

14 Can Self-Learning Students Participate in PBL and Collaborate with Other Students? +

Yes. Self-Learning students have opportunities to collaborate with other students, particularly through shared activities such as the STEM Q Fair.

Self-Learning students also participate in various school activities involving the entire student community.

15 Are Self-Learning Students Required to Participate in School-Wide Activities? +

Examples include:

  • STEM Q Fair
  • Language Fair
  • Islamic Fair
  • Independence Day

  • Ramadan Camp
  • Other school-wide activities

These activities provide opportunities for Self-Learning students to interact, collaborate, and build meaningful learning experiences with their peers.

16 Are There Face-to-Face Activities for Self-Learning Students? +

Yes. Parents-Teachers Meetings (PTM) are held regularly every 3 months and may be conducted online.

In addition, offline activities for students will also be scheduled periodically, particularly during school holidays.

Currently, regular offline Trial Classes are not available. However, offline activities will, InshaAllah, be scheduled during school holidays, giving students and Parents an opportunity to experience Alhazen's learning environment and activities directly.

18 Do Self-Learning Students Study Alone Without Interaction with Other Students? +

No. Self-Learning provides flexibility in the independent learning process, but students remain part of the Alhazen School community.

Students can still participate in school-wide activities, collaborative projects, STEM Q Fair, Virtual Field Trips, Class Meetings, Ramadan Camp, and various other activities.

19 How Does Alhazen Ensure That Self-Learning Students Continue to Develop Academically and Socially? +

Student development is monitored through the Self-Learning Tracker, learning evaluations, teacher feedback, projects, collaborative activities, and PTM.

Through this system, students receive academic monitoring while also having opportunities to develop communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

20 Does Self-Learning Mean Students Can Freely Choose What They Want to Learn? +

Self-Learning at Alhazen School still follows a structured learning system and defined learning targets.

Students have greater flexibility in their learning process while following the learning plan and targets that have been established.

Teachers continue to monitor students and provide regular guidance and support to help them achieve their learning targets.
